The Yuba-Sutter Enterprise Zone received state recognition at the annual California Association of Enterprise Zones (CAEZ) conference held recently in Visalia, California. Under the Marketing category, Yuba-Sutter was awarded a 2001 Zone Excellence Award for "Best Enterprise Zone Website."

Three California Enterprise Zones, one Targeted Tax Area, and one LAMBRA Area were cited for their creative marketing campaigns and innovative partnership approaches as recipients of the fourth annual California Enterprise Zone Excellence Awards, state Enterprise Zone Program Director Glen Stober announced.

"The two goals of the Enterprise Zone Program are to revitalize economically distressed areas and provide employment opportunities for people. These communities did an outstanding job in developing effective partnerships and campaigns to promote the fulfillment of these goals," said Stober.

Since the Zone Excellence Program was established, Yuba-Sutter has received five awards: 1998 – Best Overall Marketing Program; 1999 – Most Innovative Vouchering System; 1999 – Success Story of the Year (small city); 2000 – Innovative/Financing Incentive Program, and 2001 – Best Enterprise Zone Website.
