IN THE ZONE

AIn the Zone@ marketing signs have been poping up all over Yuba-Sutter B North Beale Road, 5^th Street, 10^th Street, Arboga Road, Plumas Street, Highways 70 and 99, and Garden Highway -- all part of a joint marketing effort by the Yuba-Sutter Enterprise Zone in partnership with the Yuba-Sutter Economic Development Corporation.

The 1998 Yuba-Sutter Enterprise Zone Marketing Program was announced today by Zone Manager Mary Hansen. The signs mark the kickoff of an effort by the two organizations to educate the local business community on the Enterprise Zone and get them to utilize the program. During the next several weeks, businesses located in the zone will be receiving AIn the Zone@ post cards that indicate the business is located in the zone and to explain some of the advantages of the zone program. Radio announcements also reminding its listeners about the zone program will begin later this week.

The enterprise zone program is a designated area by the state of California that provides both local incentives and state tax credits to both existing and new businesses in the zone. This is the first in a series of articles on the zone program.
