ENTERPRISE ZONE EXPANDS
The Yuba-Sutter Enterprise Zone boundaries were recently expanded
by 3.04 square miles within the County of Yuba's
portion of the zone. The expansion encompasses the new Raceway and Entertainment Area
along Highway 65 and Forty Mile Road. The expansion brings the total zone area to 73.5
square miles, the largest zone in the state. Businesses locating within the Raceway and
Entertainment Area and the adjacent manufacturing zoned area between Highway 65 and Rancho
Road, also added to the zone, can take advantage of the state and local zone incentives as
of February 24, 1998.
Enterprise Zones are allowed to expand their boundaries by a total of 15
percent based on the original designated boundaries. The Yuba-Sutter Enterprise Zone has
been expanded an additional three times since its designation in October 1986, adding to
date a total of 5.02 square miles. Previous expansions include 1.6 square miles in 1991 by
Yuba County, adding properties along Hale Road, Rancho, Road, Virginia, and
Ostrom; .35
square miles by Yuba City in 1994, adding the Yuba City Mall area, Sunsweet properties,
Walmart/Sam's Club areas, and Target areas; and
03 square miles by Yuba City in 1997, adding the Waremart shopping area properties.
